JROTC Promotion Board Practice Test 2026 – Your All-in-One Guide to Achieve Promotion Success!

The highest rank of an enlisted cadet is Cadet Command Sergeant Major. This rank holds significant responsibilities, as it is typically considered the top non-commissioned officer position within a JROTC unit. The Cadet Command Sergeant Major serves as a key leader, providing guidance and support to other cadets while representing the interests and concerns of the enlisted ranks to the cadet leadership. This role involves mentorship, discipline, and the promotion of an effective team environment, essential for the success of the unit.

In comparison, the other ranks such as Cadet Sergeant, Cadet First Sergeant, and Cadet Staff Sergeant, while important and authoritative within their own right, do not carry the same level of seniority or influence as the Cadet Command Sergeant Major. Each of these ranks has specific duties and responsibilities, but they rank below the Command Sergeant Major in the hierarchy of enlisted cadets.
